Details of the original alert: Thai authorities said on Saturday (September 27) that floods caused by heavy monsoon rains had killed at least seven people in the country, as rescue operations continued for the victims.<br />Thailand’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said more than 260,000 people in several provinces along the Chao Phraya River have been affected by flooding this week.<br />On Tuesday, the department reported that the death toll from flooding across the country’s central region had risen to four, now standing at seven.<br />Thailand was not directly hit by Tropical Storm Bualoi, which hit the Philippines this week, but meteorological authorities have warned of heavy rains in the coming days.<br />In August, five people died and 15 were injured in northern Thailand due to landslides and flooding caused by Typhoon Kajiki.
